At analytica 2024, the world's leading trade fair for the laboratory sector in Munich, we spontaneously asked some of our customers to share their experience with Metrohm. Watch the videos below to learn more about the collaboration, instrumentation, and service and support by Metrohm directly from customers.

OMNIS platform: Maximum efficiency and reliability

Dr. Martin Niehues, laboratory manager at Nitrochemie Aschau GmbH in Germany, describes the advantages of the OMNIS platform from Metrohm for routine moisture analysis. Karl Fischer titration results can be used directly in the OMNIS Software to calibrate the OMNIS NIR Analyzer, saving time and effort. Dr. Niehues also mentions in this interview that corporations such as Nitrochemie AG with several laboratories can use OMNIS to centrally manage their routine analytics in a client/server network.

Handheld Raman spectroscopy: A compact alternative

Markus Bertko from Protina, a pharmaceutical manufacturer of organic mineral preparations, points out some key advantages of handheld Raman spectrometers for pharmaceutical companies. He highlights the compact size of the MIRA P handheld Raman analyzer from Metrohm, as well as its ability to measure through bags and containers, the database, and that the instrument can be validated.

OMNIS Sample Robot Oven: High-throughput, robust coulometric KF titration

Dr. Fischer, scientific director at OELCHECK, underlines the robustness and higher capacity of the new OMNIS Sample Robot Oven. The sample robot can be equipped with up to two Oven Modules, allowing various sample vials to be analyzed in parallel. At OELCHECK, this setup could be used to analyze different oils, primarily hydraulic oils, turbine oils, and gear oils.

Metrohm product portfolio: A variety of robust and reliable instruments

Dr. Tröster, Head of the laboratory at MAN Energy Solutions, explains the impact climate protection regulations have on producers of gas and diesel engines for ships. Their engines can cope with different fuels, such as heavy oil, diesel or liquefied natural gas (LNG). In the future, methanol will play a key role providing new analytical challenges. MAN Energy solutions uses different instruments for quality assurance and control: titrators for standard parameters in fuels, Rancimat for oxidation stability measurements in biodiesel, and ion chromatographs for analyzing impurities in methanol.

Application Note: Oxidation stability of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME, biodiesel)

Application Note: Chloride, nitrate, and sulfate in methanol
